Newborn Puppies: Don’t Miss These Key Tasks in Their First 12 Months!

👉 Month 1: Ensure survival! Breast milk is best (contains antibodies). If insufficient, use pet goat milk powder as a substitute (cow’s milk causes diarrhea due to lactose intolerance).

👉 Month 2: Administer the first vaccine (for distemper, parvovirus, etc.) around 45 days old. Gradually replace breast milk with soft puppy food.

👉 Month 3: Transition to dry food once all baby teeth have grown in to avoid double rows of teeth. Begin socialization and basic command training at this stage.

👉 Month 4: When baby teeth fall out and adult teeth emerge, puppies will have itchy gums—provide chew toys. Support new fur growth with proper nutrition as puppy coat sheds.

👉 Months 5–6: Puppies experience rapid growth in height and weight; extra nutrition is needed. They also have high energy levels, which may lead to behavioral issues.

👉 Months 7–8: Manage 发情 (heat) behaviors! Hormonal changes can cause marking or mounting—strengthen obedience training.

👉 Months 9–10: Handle heavy shedding periods, reinforce social desensitization training, and correct adolescent bad habits to prepare for adulthood.

👉 Months 11–12: Complete the transition from puppy to adult. Adjust their diet (using the 7-day transition method), establish lifelong healthy habits, and solidify behavioral norms.

New dog owners: Learn in advance and stay patient!
