Napoleon

0

Napoleon was the former name of the Minuet cat, referring to the same breed at different stages. In 2015, the TICA (The International Cat Association) renamed “Napoleon” to “Miniet” (transliterated as “米努特” in Chinese), inspired by the waltz “Minuet”.

👣 Origin: United States

🐱 Lifespan: Approximately 15 years
🥇 Weight: 3–7.5 kg

🏵 Living Habits

The Napoleon cat is gentle, lazy, and deeply enjoys accompanying its owner—it’s highly affectionate!

  • Key traits: Short legs and extremely soft fur. Even adult Napoleons retain kitten-soft, plush coats, making them feel like “enlarged kittens.” Holding one is like cuddling a weighted cotton ball, boosting happiness instantly.
  • Coat colors: Any color is possible.
  • Breeding origin: A deliberate hybrid of Munchkin cats (short legs) and long-haired Persian cats, created to combine a sweet doll-like face with 腊肠犬 (dachshund-like) short legs.
  • Name origin: The breed’s compact, short-limbed build resembles the rumored stature of Napoleon Bonaparte, the famous French ruler.
