Curiosity Corner | How Long Do Long-Lived Border Collies Live? 4th in Guinness World Records

Longevity Record: Bramble, a Border Collie from the UK, lived to 27 years and 211 days (ranked 4th in the Guinness World Records).

Border Collies have extremely high intelligence, equivalent to that of a 6–8-year-old child. They are energetic, loyal, alert yet timid, sensitive, cautious, and have strong memories—they can even hold grudges.

Things Border Collies Love: Sports like catching frisbees, puzzle games, interacting with their owners, and swimming/playing in water.

Their Advantages: Exceptionally intelligent and easy to train; strong constitution, rarely getting sick; good-looking; loyal and gentle.

Their Disadvantages: Excess energy leading to destructive behavior; heavy shedding; timid and prone to bullying the weak while fearing the strong; overly clever, resulting in low obedience.

Health & Daily Care: Common health issues include hip dysplasia and eye diseases; they need plenty of exercise (1–2 hours daily); coat care (brushing 2–3 times a week); dietary recommendations (high-quality protein).

A Pity: Border Collies never become police dogs, haha! Mainly because they’re too smart and disobedient—they can’t even pass the probation period [awkward].
