‼️Is your cat acting unusual?
Pet parents must pay attention!
Unusual behavior often signals illness 📶!!
Memorize these 8 distress signals🐴—they could save your cat’s life!
1⃣️ Eye discharge/eye rubbing 👀
Normal cats have tear-free eyes. Discharge may indicate a cold, conjunctivitis, or other eye infections.
2⃣️ “Hen squat” posture 🐔
A classic sign of pain (or readiness to flee). Often paired with loss of appetite and low energy, possibly due to abdominal discomfort—seek vet care immediately.
3⃣️ Bad breath/air chewing 🤮
Likely from poor dental care. If brushing daily doesn’t help, suspect gastrointestinal or kidney issues—urgent vet visit needed.
4⃣️ Excessive licking of private area
May indicate inflamed anal glands or parasitic infection. If your cat fixates on one body part, check for injuries there.
5⃣️ Ear scratching/head shaking 👂🏼
If your cat scratches ears frequently:
- Ensure regular deworming 🐛
- Check if dewormer covers ear mites
- Clean outer ears with ear solution
6⃣️ Smaller urine clumps
Normal clumps are egg-sized 🥚. If they shrink to pigeon egg or even soybean size, suspect urinary tract issues.
7⃣️ Dry, warm nose
Healthy cats have cool, moist noses. A warm nose is a classic sign of fever—consult a vet promptly.
8⃣️ Rapid breathing/tongue panting 👅
Normal after exercise or in heat—cool your cat down. If constant, suspect heart disease risk.
